Brooklyn got a strong outing from Dick Redding as the Royal Giants defeated the Birmingham Black Barons, 5-2, at Rickwood Field. Redding, now 2-0, was the winner. Beals Becker had a big 2-run home run for the Royal Giants in the top of the fourth inning.
