The home crowd had a good time watching the Portland Sea Dogs and Chicago American Giants get after it.

The performance of Freddie Lindstrom proved critical in helping Chicago beat Portland, 10-5. The American Giants third baseman hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Ed Walsh got the win, improving to 10-11. He held the Sea Dogs to 3 runs on 5 hits over 5 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 2.

Lindstrom had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth to put Chicago in front, 5-3. With the bases loaded, he hit a sacrifice fly off Portland pitcher Jerry Koosman.

"We hit the ball hard," said Chicago manager Daniel Makonnen. "Line drive after line drive."

Chicago is now 73-89, while Portland is 71-91.
