The Indianapolis ABCs defeated the Kansas City Monarchs, 7-3, in National League action at Muehlebach Field 1923-1941. Indianapolis pitcher Eppa Rixey had a standout performance. With the win, Indianapolis has a record of 79-83. Kansas City falls to 79-83.

Indianapolis designated hitter Adam Dunn contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a curveball to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 95th hit of the season and put the ABCs ahead, 4-2.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Rixey. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."
