Plank Now 7-2 After Beating Sea Dogs
|
San Francisco pitcher Eddie Plank had a large part in his team subduing the Portland Sea Dogs, 3-0. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. The Sea Lions lead the American League Cumberland Posey Division by 4 games.
Plank was in the zone, shutting down Portland hitters over 8.2 innings. Plank, who threw 111 pitches, allowed no runs on 3 hits. He also tallied 8 punchouts.
"Eddie throwing strikes, pounding the zone, that is exactly what you want to see," said San Francisco manager Daniel Makonnen.
