Mounties Upend Black Barons, 6-3
|
The Ottawa Mounties picked up a win at Rickwood Field, knocking off the Birmingham Black Barons, 6-3. Starting pitcher Charles Radbourn was a big reason why. Tom Henke recorded the save for Ottawa, his 2nd of the season. Ottawa now has a record of 27-26 with the win.
Ottawa took a 3-2 lead on Álex Rodríguez's 7th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Rodríguez hit in the top of the seventh, left Birmingham pitcher Harley Young visibly frustrated.
"My job is to go out and execute," said Radbourn.
