Grasshoppers Double Up Harrisburg, 4-2
|
The Harrisburg Ponies got a superb performance from pitcher Luke Hochevar. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Greensboro. The Grasshoppers won the game, 4-2. Hochevar threw 5.0 innings of shutout ball. Reliever Corky Valentine picked up the win. His record improves to 5-3. A. J. Schugel took the loss. The victory gives Greensboro a record of 33-30.
Amby McConnell had a timely hit in the bottom of the seventh inning. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, the Greensboro second baseman hit a run-scoring single. That put the Grasshoppers in front, 4-2.
"Glad to go home with a win," said McConnell.
