Diamond Dogs Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
|
The Albany Diamond Dogs beat the Dayton Marcos, 5-2. Albany pitcher and Phoenix, Arizona, native Dallas Braden led the way. Braden got the win, improving to 6-2. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Braden allowed 2 runs. Tim Crews notched his 4th save in 9 chances.
Had Neil Walker not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Walker hit a grand slam home run. That made the score 5-2, in favor of the Diamond Dogs.
"Good team win," Braden said. "I love it when a plan comes together."
The winning streak has now reached 12 games for Albany.
