Angels Popped by Spiders, 6-3
|
Cleveland Spiders starter Pat Malone found his groove in his team's 6-3 win over the Los Angeles Angels. Malone yielded 1 run over 5.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 6. His record improves to 3-4. Terry Adams earned his 9th save, after closing out the game.
Cleveland won the game in part because of Larry Doby. The right fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the third inning to put the Spiders ahead, 1-0. For the game, Doby had 1 double and 1 home run in 3 at-bats.
"Pat is still learning," said Spiders manager Daniel Makonnen. "The sky's the limit for him."
The win gives Cleveland a season record of 30-22.
