Grasshoppers Win, 3-2, Versus Gems
|
Jim Lemon had a good game, but he could not keep the Flint Gems from falling, 3-2, to the Greensboro Grasshoppers at World War Memorial Stadium. The Flint left fielder was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once in the loss. Ernie White recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 18 for 19. The Grasshoppers bumped their record to 42-35 with this win.
Making an impact for the home team was Ron E Davis. In the bottom of the sixth, the former first round draft pick had a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, Grasshoppers.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Greensboro manager Billy Sheeley.
