The home crowd had a good time watching the Greensboro Grasshoppers and Des Moines Demons get after it.

The Des Moines Demons bested the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 9-4, at Sec Taylor Stadium. Chris Davis was one of the standouts. He went 3 for 3 with a home run, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Harry Perkowski, the winning pitcher, improved to 13-1. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 4 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 10 and walking 3. Neil Allen recorded the save, making him 2 for 4.

Des Moines shortstop Eddie Kasko contributed to the cause with a bases-clearing double in the bottom of the third. For the game, Kasko was 1-4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs.

"This team is real focused right now," said Des Moines manager Mark Hoffstatter.

With the victory, the Demons upped their record to 57-23.
