With shortstop Pat Listach leading the charge, the Canton Terriers defeated the Greensboro Grasshoppers, 10-8, at Ballpark of Avis. Listach, who is tied for 8th in the AMA in stolen bases with 15, was 4-4 with a triple, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2. The winner was Al Alburquerque in relief. His record improves to 7-0. Ernie White took the loss. With the win, the Terriers hiked their record to 52-38.
Late-game drama came in the bottom of the eighth inning. With two out and the bases loaded, Canton second baseman Jimmy T Williams hit a 2-run single, helping his team get the win.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Williams.
