Grasshoppers Take Tight Tilt, 2-1

The Greensboro Grasshoppers and Omaha Buffaloes rewarded fans hoping for nail-biter.
The Omaha Buffaloes wasted an impressive 7.1-inning effort from starter Bill Dietrich, falling 2-1 to the Greensboro Grasshoppers at World War Memorial Stadium. Ernie White, 4-5, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings.
Ed Hearne delivered a run-scoring single in the bottom of the 11th to win it for the Grasshoppers. For the game, Hearne went 2 for 5 with a triple, while adding 2 RBI.
"Every loss hurts," said Omaha manager Ramiro Ramirez. "But this was a tough one."
The 5th-place Grasshoppers are 50-57.
