Divisional Playoffs Game 1 Victory for Grove and San Francisco
The San Francisco Sea Lions started the Divisional Playoffs in style, downing the visiting Cleveland Spiders at Oracle Park by a score of 6-2 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Sea Lions left-hander Lefty Grove threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball.

With one out in the bottom of the fifth, Mickey Cochrane put San Francisco in front, 3-2, with a run-scoring single. The Sea Lions went on to win the ballgame.

"Lefty went out and did what we needed," said San Francisco manager Daniel Makonnen.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Oracle Park in San Francisco.
