Johnson, New York Start Wild Card Round Strong with Home Win
The New York Black Yankees started the Wild Card Round in style, downing the visiting Cleveland Spiders at Yankee Stadium by a score of 13-7 to grab an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Black Yankees second baseman Grant Johnson was 3 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3.

Johnson contributed in the bottom of the second. With the bases loaded, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat among others that helped New York get the win.

Johnson said the win provided a "big morale boost" for the team. "There's a good feeling in the clubhouse right now."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Yankee Stadium in New York.
