|
Birmingham picked up a win at Polo Grounds, bumping off the New York Gothams, 4-3. Pitcher Tim Hudson was a major reason the Black Barons emerged victorious. Juan Rincón converted his 4th save in 5 tries. With the win, Birmingham goes to 24-33, while the Gothams fall to 29-27.
It could have been a different outcome for Birmingham, had it not been for Curtis Granderson, the 26-year old center fielder . Granderson contributed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put Birmingham up, 4-0.
"Enjoyed this one," Granderson told the Birmingham Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
