Angels Get 14-Inning Win
The Chicago American Giants could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Ed Walsh into a win. Instead, the Los Angeles Angels prevailed, 5-4. Walsh threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The 4th-place Angels go to 27-30.

Los Angeles needed the clutch hitting of Mark Ellis to seal the deal. The second baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the 14th inning to put the Angels on top, 5-4. For the game, Ellis had 1 home run and 1 single in 6 at-bats.
