Honolulu Stadium was the site for WBL Mid National action featuring the Honolulu Islanders and Trenton Thunder.

A 5-RBI performance from the 25-year old second baseman Luis Rivas helped the Trenton Thunder beat the Honolulu Islanders, 15-6. Don Nottebart, the winning pitcher, is now 5-4. He went 6 innings, allowing 6 runs on 10 hits, while fanning 10 and walking 3.

Trenton took a 9-6 lead on Dick Gernert's 15th home run of the season. The 3-run home run, which Gernert hit in the top of the seventh, left Honolulu pitcher Leo Kiely visibly frustrated.

In postgame comments to the Trenton Gazette, Gernert said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."

The last-place Islanders have dropped 5 straight games.
