Monarchs Win, McGee has 4 hits
Kansas City center fielder Willie McGee played a vital role in his team's 9-3 conquest of Indianapolis. He went 4 for 5 with 2 triples and a double, while scoring 4 times and driving in 4 for Kansas City. Frank Castillo was the winner. He's now 1-0. The loser was 24-year old left-handed pitcher Willie Mitchell. Indianapolis drops to 5-2.

McGee contributed a big hit, a 2-run triple, for Kansas City in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-1, McGee took a fastball from Willie Mitchell and stroked the triple to center. His 2nd triple of the season allowed the Monarchs to leap in front, 3-2.

"It's the best feeling when you come through for your teammates," said McGee.
