The Homestead Grays downed the Indianapolis ABCs, 4-3, at Forbes Field. Josh Gibson led the way, going 1-for-1 for Homestead. Billy Pierce claimed the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record stands at 1-0. Ricardo Rincón closed it out for his 1st save.

Gibson had a timely hit for Homestead in the bottom of the seventh. With Homestead trailing 3-1, he turned a 2-2 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season, making it 4-3, Homestead.

Homestead manager Daniel Makonnen commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
