Indianapolis starter Doc White pitched well against the San Francisco Sea Lions at Candlestick Park. The left-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. Red Faber, now 5-4, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on no hits, while striking out 2 and walking 0. Lefty James notched his 1st save in 3 chances.

Bob Bescher, the 25-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Bescher contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Indianapolis up, 4-0.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," White told the Indianapolis Gazette.

San Francisco has now lost 5 consecutive games.
