Colt 45s Deal Mounties 4-2 Loss
|
Houston pitcher Toad Ramsey had a large part in his team subduing the Ottawa Mounties, 4-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Ramsey picked up the win for Houston, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 11-4. Tug McGraw was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 6 of 7 save opportunities.
The Colt 45s got a big at-bat from first baseman Jeff Bagwell. For the game, Bagwell went 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the first, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 17th home run of the season gave Houston a 3-0 lead.
"I was able to fill up the zone," said Ramsey.
The Colt 45s improved their record to 36-44 by beating Ottawa.
