Strasburg Now 1-8 Following 2-0 Win
|
Minute Maid Park was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
In a tight affair between the Houston Colt 45s and the Indianapolis ABCs, pitcher Stephen Strasburg was in the zone. The Houston right-hander helped his team win the game, 2-0. Tug McGraw was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 7 of 8 save opportunities.
Strasburg tossed 91 pitches over 7 innings to clinch the win for the Colt 45s. The right-hander allowed just 2 hits, while racking up 10 strikeouts in the game.
"From the first pitch, Stephen was ready to rock and roll," said Houston manager Daniel Makonnen.
Houston has now won 5 games in a row.
