Wolverines Lose to Angels, 5-4
|
The Los Angeles Angels did just enough to sneak past the Detroit Wolverines, 5-4, at Angel Stadium of Anaheim 1998. Los Angeles pitcher Brett Anderson, in particular, had a standout performance. The 4th-place Angels improved to 38-46.
The Angels got a big at-bat from designated hitter Kal Daniels. For the game, Daniels was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a grand slam home run. His 16th home run of the season gave Los Angeles a 5-2 lead.
Los Angeles manager Daniel Makonnen said his team played a "no nonsense" game.
