Ottawa and New York duked it out and the Mounties came out victorious.

The New York Gothams could not turn a fine performance from catcher Buster Posey into a win. Instead, the Ottawa Mounties prevailed, 7-5. Posey hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Ottawa reliever Chris Bosio was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Juan Marichal.

Adrián Beltré came through with a big-time hit for Ottawa. The third baseman smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to give his team the lead, 6-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Beltré told the Ottawa Gazette.

Ottawa is now 40-45, New York 44-43.
