Due in large part to center fielder Alejandro Oms, the Miami Cuban Giants sunk the San Francisco Sea Lions, 13-12. Oms was 3 for 3 with 3 singles and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The win went to Braden Looper in relief, making him now 1-0. Rod Beck took the loss for San Francisco. Miami is off to a hot start at 7-3.

The climactic moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Miami. That's when 24-year old left fielder Ryan Braun hit a solo home run off Rod Beck to win the game. The home crowd erupted in celebration.

"This wasn't a good win," said Braun. "It was a great win."
