The San Francisco Sea Lions got a sterling performance from pitcher Diego Seguí, but the Ottawa Mounties still prevailed, 5-4. Seguí threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Ottawa reliever Greg Holland was credited with the win, to go to 3-1. Rod Beck took the loss for San Francisco. The Sea Lions have now dropped 7 straight.

The game came to a dramatic end. In the bottom of the ninth, with Ottawa trailing 4-3, Álex Rodríguez hit a slider from Rod Beck for a 2-run home run, giving the Mounties the walk-off win.

Rodríguez described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
