Spiders Earn 6-5 Win Against Angels
|
Lance Berkman left his imprint on the 6-5 Cleveland win against the Los Angeles Angels. Berkman, who is tied for 9th in the AL in extra base hits with 48, was 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. With the victory, the Spiders upped their record to 49-38.
Cleveland got a knockout punch from Johnny Bates. The left fielder hammered a solo home run in the bottom of the 12th inning to win the game. It might've been his only hit, but it decided the outcome.
"We battled our tails off to get this win," said Cleveland manager Daniel Makonnen.
