The New York Gothams locked up a win at Ebbets Field, knocking off the Brooklyn Royal Giants, 7-3. On the mound for New York was right-hander Gaylord Perry. He played a major role in the triumph. Perry, the winner, moves to 8-7. He threw 6 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 8 and giving up 2 walks. The Gothams go to 45-48, putting them third in the National League Effa Manley Division.

The Gothams got a big at-bat from third baseman Ryan Zimmerman. For the game, Zimmerman went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave New York a 4-2 lead.

"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Zimmerman told the New York Today.
