Judge Slugs Stars to 6-4 Win
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Philadelphia Stars and Houston Colt 45s.
The Philadelphia Stars beat the Houston Colt 45s, 6-4, at Shibe Park AL. The win was due in part to right fielder Aaron Judge, who hit 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Philadelphia starter Steve Carlton was credited with the win after throwing 95 pitches over 5 innings. His record now stands at 8-9. Bob Howry earned his 13th save in 16 chances.
With Philadelphia trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the third, Judge hit a slider from Roger Clemens for a 2-run home run. It was his 30th home run of the season and put the Stars ahead, 4-3.
"I felt good up there," said Judge. "I saw the ball well."
Philadelphia has now won 3 in a row.
