Jackson Helps Sea Lions Beat Black Yankees, 8-7
|
Reggie Jackson made an impact in the 8-7 San Francisco win over New York. Jackson, who is tied for 8th in the AL in hits with 100, was 3-4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 and driving in 3. The first-place Sea Lions have won 7 in a row.
Dick Lundy provided a timely hit. The San Francisco third baseman delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Sea Lions on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Lundy.
