Fulmer Slugs 4 HR Against Secret Nine
|
Nothing could stop Chick Fulmer today -- certainly not the Armstrong's Secret Nine pitching staff.
The 25-year-old shortstop for the Camagüey Toros sent 4 baseballs soaring out of Estadio Cándido González and made his name a part of history. Behind his barrage, the Toros took a 15-5 win over the Secret Nine.
"In the standings, a loss is just a loss, but this one was frustrating," Secret Nine manager Justin Bogue said later. "He clobbered us."
Fulmer's dream game included 4 hits in 5 at-bats, 4 homers, 9 runs driven in and 4 runs scored.
"I know all the stories are going to be about me today, and that's OK," Fulmer told the press in the locker room after the game. "Next time, it'll be one of the other guys."
Chick Fulmer hit a GRAND SLAM off Chris Capuano in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Fritz Peterson in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Fritz Peterson in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th and hit a solo-shot off Chris Tillman in the 8th.
For the season, Fulmer is hitting at a .367 clip with 11 home runs, 22 RBIs and has scored 15 runs. He has 22 hits, no walks and a .377 on-base percentage.
