Season Ends for Benton Thursday, May 10th , 2001 Larry Benton had to wait several agonizing days to find out his diagnosis after suffering a torn flexor tendon in his elbow on 05/09/2001. Today he received word from the Birmingham doctor that he would be out the rest of the year. Team officials called it a huge setback but something they would have to overcome. This year, Benton has compiled a 1-1 mark with a 7.15 ERA. |
