Clark Goes Downtown 3 Times Against Wolverines
Tuesday, May 15th , 2001
Jack Clark added his name in the record books after an explosive home run spree against the Detroit Wolverines. But despite joining the select list of sluggers to hit three home runs in a game, it didn't guarantee a victory. The San Francisco Sea Lions fell to the Wolverines, 7-6.

In his big day at Tiger Stadium, the San Francisco first baseman went 3-for-4 with 6 RBIs and scored 3 times.

"It was just one of those days," he told BNN sportswriters in the postgame interview. "I don't know how to explain it. I'm just putting a good swing on the ball. "You would think three homers would win most games. It was good to hit 'em, but a win would have really made my day."

Jack Clark hit a two-run home run off Pete Conway in the 1st, struck out in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Pete Conway in the 6th and hit a three-run home run off George Bechtel in the 8th.

So far on the season, Clark is hitting .244 with 11 home runs, 22 RBIs and 25 runs scored. He has 32 hits and played in 38 games.
