Reichardt Parks 3 HR in the Seats
Monday, May 21st , 2001
Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Grays-Stars game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball.
Homestead left fielder Rick Reichardt thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Homestead to a win, 12-5, over Philadelphia.
"Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Reichardt said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run."
Reichardt, who is on pace to hit 50 home runs this season, was 4-for-5 on the day with 4 runs batted in.
Rick Reichardt singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Steve Carlton in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Steve Carlton in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Robin Roberts in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
This season, Reichardt has hit at a .352 clip with 33 RBIs, 14 home runs and 32 runs scored.
