Early Season End for Bieber Monday, June 11th , 2001 The news was not unexpected, but that didn't make it easier to accept for the Memphis Red Sox: starting pitcher Shane Bieber is out for the year. Bieber suffered a stretched elbow ligament on 06/09/2001. The team knew that the chances of seeing him return were slim to none. But today it was made official. This season, Bieber has worked 33 innings with 26 strikeouts en route to a 0-3 record and a 7.36 ERA. |
