Memphis Commits $5,200,000 to RP Tekulve Thursday, June 28th , 2001 The Memphis Red Sox have called a press conference later today to announce the signing of reliever Kent Tekulve to a 1-year, $5,200,000 contract. Both Tekulve and the Red Sox are said to be very pleased to come to this agreement. To date, Tekulve has collected no saves in 10 relief appearances. He has rung up 4 strikeouts and 1 walk in 8 innings while registering a 10.12 ERA and a 0-1 won-lost record. |
