No Comeback This Season for Brock
Tuesday, July 3rd , 2001
The Kansas City Monarchs braced themselves for the news: they would be without left fielder Lou Brock for the duration of the season. Brock suffered a broken bone in the elbow on 06/30/2001 and has not played since. The team's manager said he accepted the setback as a challenge.
"We're still focused on one goal," he said.
In 63 games this season, Brock has compiled a .249 batting average with 49 hits and 3 home runs. He has also scored 28 times and knocked in 25 runs.
