Spiders Trade Drake to Wolverines for Passeau Tuesday, July 10th , 2001 Cleveland and Detroit have agreed to a trade today. 29-year old minor league C Victor Martinez, 21-year old minor league RHP Bill Drake, and a 3rd round draft pick will go to the Wolverines. In exchange the Spiders will receive 36-year old C Ed Bailey and 28-year old RHP Claude Passeau. Passeau has taken the hill for 6 relief appearances this season, nailing down 1 save while notching a 1-1 record with a 6.75 ERA. The Cleveland reliever has limited opposing batters to a .308 batting average. |
