Wandering Swaps Harris to Kansas City for Hidalgo Tuesday, July 10th , 2001 The House of David and Monarchs pulled the trigger on a deal that will see 36-year old LF Joe Harris and 34-year old RHP Lee Smith head to Kansas City in exchange for 19-year old minor league CF Heliodoro Hidalgo, 29-year old minor league LHP Jimmy Key, and a 3rd round draft pick. A source close to Wandering officials said, "The teams spent long hours coming to the agreement and in the end, both agreed the deal should help both clubs." This year, Harris is batting .290 with 12 home runs. |
