Hornsby and Peavy Dealt Tuesday, July 10th , 2001 Portland and New York have swapped players. The Sea Dogs announced today that they have sent 34-year old 2B Rogers Hornsby and 33-year old RHP Pascual Pérez to the Black Yankees in exchange for 28-year old minor league 2B Willie Randolph, 24-year old RHP Jake Peavy, 22-year old minor league RHP Bill Monbouquette, and a 1st round draft pick. This season, Hornsby is batting .280 with 60 hits and 11 home runs. He has scored 34 times and has 33 runs batted in. |
