Blyleven Twirls 4-0 Shutout Saturday, August 4th , 2001 Bert Blyleven of the Portland Sea Dogs overwhelmed the Chicago American Giants and walked off the mound with a complete-game shutout. He blanked them, 4-0, on 4 hits with a total of 5 strikeouts and 3 walks. "Bert was on quite a roll," Portland manager Daniel Makonnen said. "He gets great late movement and he doesn't give in to the hitters." Thus far this season, Blyleven has worked 148.1 innings with 126 strikeouts en route to a 8-7 record and a 4.61 ERA.
