Gothams Blanked by Henderson
Friday, August 17th , 2001
Hardie Henderson kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Philadelphia Stars were all smiles after winning, 6-0, against the New York Gothams at Polo Grounds. The right-handed Henderson gave up no runs in his start, permitted 3 hits, and tallied 7 strikeouts.
"If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Henderson said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be."
To date this year, Henderson shows a 13-10 record, 27 starts, 170 innings, 132 strikeouts and a 4.18 ERA.
