Injury Sidelines Thomas for Season
Saturday, September 8th , 2001
Frank Thomas has to call it a season. The Chicago American Giants first baseman learned today that the full extent his injury suffered on 09/05/2001 is worse than hoped. He will not play again this year according to club doctors, who diagnosed the injury as a torn posterior cruciate ligament and stated that he would not be able to play for 9 months.
The team will likely place Thomas on the injured list today.
Thomas is currently batting .296 with 31 home runs, 84 runs scored and 98 RBIs. His OBP is .411.
