Rizzo Slaps 5 Hits Monday, September 10th , 2001 It was a parade of hits for Anthony Rizzo of the Wandering House of David at Polo Grounds. Connecting almost every time he went to the plate, Rizzo finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 6 at-bats. His strong individual effort propelled the House of David to a win, 15-6. "Rizzo was really good and we were really bad," groaned Gothams manager Daniel Makonnen. "Next time he's that hot, we'll just walk him." Anthony Rizzo hit a solo-shot off Christy Mathewson in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Christy Mathewson in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Guy Hecker in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
