Smith Tames Black Barons, 3-0

Bill Smith had an impressive outing at Rickwood Field, hurling the Ottawa Mounties to a 3-0 shutout victory over the Birmingham Black Barons.
"He threw strikes and he was always around the plate," Birmingham skipper Daniel Makonnen said. "The ball was doing everything he wanted it to do. We hit some balls hard, but they were all right at the fielders."
On the day, the right-handed Smith yielded 5 hits and tallied 4 strikeouts with 3 walks.
On the year, Smith has compiled a 9-3 mark with a 3.58 ERA.
