Postseason Bid Ends for Memphis Sunday, September 23rd , 2001 While they stayed relevant until late in the season, a playoff berth wasn't meant to be this season for the Memphis Red Sox. The club was eliminated from playoff contention today. "Even though we knew where things stood, it's a disappointment," Red Sox manager Daniel Makonnen said. The Red Sox are still searching for their first playoff appearance. The team also missed qualifying for the postseason last season. |
