Sunday, September 30th , 2001
For the 1st time in franchise history, the New York Black Yankees are champions of the American League Bill James Division.
And according to left fielder Babe Ruth, this was an extremely hard fight for the team.
"We've not had any easy ride to the title at all, we've had tough competition and really had to battle for it," he said.
Manager Daniel Makonnen said the club will take a short time to celebrate, before returning the focus on bringing the 1st Whirled Baseball championship to New York.
