Whirled Baseball fans were certainly not disappointed with this American League Wild Card Round.
The two teams were evenly matched and the series went to the final game, with the San Francisco Sea Lions prevailing over the Detroit Wolverines to advance to the Divisional Playoffs.
San Francisco won the final game by a score of 4-0 at Oracle Park and that sealed the series 4-3.
"Things were tense in our clubhouse and dugout before and during this game, but we can let loose a bit now -- the hard work is over, for now," said third baseman Dick Lundy, who earned MVP honors.
For the series, Lundy hit .538 with a .571 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 7 RBI and scored 9 runs.
