Royal Giants Win Divisional Playoffs Saturday, October 20th , 2001 By a score of 7-6, the Brooklyn Royal Giants have sealed a victory in the Divisional Playoffs over the Houston Colt 45s. "We knew we would be in for a tough series and that's what we got," said catcher Mike Piazza of the Royal Giants, who was named the series MVP. "The Colt 45s knew how to battle and gave us a good test." The next test for Brooklyn will come in the Whirled Series, after winning this series 4-2. The Brooklyn Royal Giants will play against the San Francisco Sea Lions in the next round. San Francisco won their series against the Cleveland Spiders 4 games to 0.
