Murphy and Kauff Dealt Thursday, March 21st , 2002 The Kansas City Monarchs have finalized a deal that will send 24-year old CF Dale Murphy and 19-year old minor league 3B Carlos Baerga to New York for 29-year old CF Benny Kauff. Minor details still need to be worked out before the trade becomes official, but the players involved are expected to be with their new clubs soon. Murphy is hitting .191 lifetime with 88 hits, 16 doubles, no triples, 31 home runs, and 56 RBIs to date. He has scored 70 runs and stolen 19 bases. Looking at his all-time stats, Kauff has a lifetime .288 average with 154 hits, 41 doubles, 1 triple, 38 home runs and 97 RBIs. To date he has scored 84 runs, walked 44 times and stolen 21 bases. |
